A gesture of protection.

The hand can be a gesture of many things — reaching, holding, welcoming, or keeping something away. In Anatolian visual traditions, it has also been used as a protective symbol, a gesture believed to turn away the evil eye and protect against misfortune.

Hand focuses on this protective quality: a familiar form standing between the space and what should be kept away. Simple, strong and immediately recognisable, the figure carries an ancient visual language into a contemporary setting.

Motif: Hand / Comb — traditionally associated with protection against the evil eye and misfortune, as well as fertility and union.


Material & Origin

Designed and hand-woven in Estonia using 80% recycled cotton upcycled from fashion industry waste and 20% polyester.

Care & Maintenance

To preserve the structural integrity of the upcycled fibers, clean using a gentle machine hand-wash cycle at 30°C. Lay flat to air-dry completely. Do not tumble dry, wring, or twist the textile.
